Radio Cherwell Chairman Neil Stockton and his wife Marion, have completed 50 years each as volunteers here at Oxford’s Hospital Radio.
At a surprise celebratory lunch to commemorate this achievement on Saturday 3rd September, gifts and certificates commemorating their service were presented to them by the station, and from the national hospital radio body – the Hospital Broadcasting Association. A video collage of greeting messages were shown to them at the lunch.
Both Neil and Marion have both been Chairperson of the station over the past 50 years.
Radio Cherwell has been serving hospital patients in the three city hospitals for the past 53 years. It transmits from its studio in the Churchill Hospital a variety of programmes seven days a week twenty four hours a day. Details can be found on this website.
