Children’s Programmes

Welcome to the online home of our children’s programmes, The Wicked Weekday Show and The Weekend For Everything Show.

We’re here every Tuesday and Saturday with music, quizzes and games for the patients in the Oxford Children’s Hospital. The programmes are especially for our younger listeners and we’ve got plenty of fun to keep them entertained. We have competitions with tantalising prizes; we play your choice of music; you can meet our presenters, plus lots, lots more…

The Wicked Weekday Show takes place on Tuesdays, 5.00 pm – 7.00 pm. Our team will be out and about on the wards in the Children’s Hospital from 4.00 pm to see who’d like to take part in this fun-packed show that’ll make your week absolutely WICKED!

If you’d like to listen to The Wicked Weekday Show again it will be repeated on Thursdays, 5.00 pm – 7.00 pm.

The Weekend For Everything Show is broadcast live on Saturdays, 10.00 am – 12.00 noon. Once again, our team will be visiting the wards to see who’s up for some super Saturday fun – it’ll make your morning AWESOME!

To listen to The Weekend For Everything Show again just tune in on Wednesdays, 10.00 am – 12.00 noon.

Would you like to take part? It’s YOUR show!

Look out for our presenters who will be out and about on the wards, bringing fun directly to your bedside, or you can join our team at the entrance to the Children’s Hospital on Level 1.

Take part in one of our competitions and you could win one of our amazing prizes. We have The Know It All Quiz. You could play the Yes/No Game (can you manage 60 seconds without answering ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ to our quick-fire questions?). Or you might like to Guess the Animal Noises – where we play the sound and you have to guess which animal it is. The prize trolley will be packed with exciting gifts for our winners and everyone taking part will be given a certificate signed by the programme presenters.

We also have Fun Animal Facts and the One Minute Wonder – jam packed full of facts to test your knowledge of the weird and wild!

Don’t forget… your visitors can take part in the programme too.

Do you have a favourite song?

I bet you do! Radio Cherwell has a HUGE music collection, so whether you like chart music, nursery rhymes or something from the soundtrack of your favourite movie, we’ll find it and play it for you.

Radio Cherwell is extremely grateful to the following for their generous financial support and donations of toys and games given as prizes on its children’s programmes.
